Evaluation Question 3: What have you learnt from audience feedback?
Audience feedback was a crucial part of creating my products, as i wanted to make sure that they represented the genre of music i had chosen, and to make sure they would appeal to my target audience. Throughout the planning and creation of my products, i wanted to get audience feedback from each of the tasks.
These are some people going over each type of product.
These people are going over my designs for my CD digipack. I used there feedback on how it could be improved in my final design.
These three people went over my designs on Photoshop for my Music Magazine Advert. They all had opinions on it such as the colours and how i could change the colours to link with my other products.
These people are going over my music video. They both had different opinions on what could be improved in it and so i took both of there opinions into account when finishing my music video.
Due to the feedback from everyone i asked, I feel that my products best represent my chosen artist, as everyone i asked was part of my target audience. Furthermore both of my ancillary tasks are similar to one of the first designs i had sketched up in the planning stages of the coursework.
These were my original sketches of my CD digipack
And this is my finished CD Digipack. Due to my use of audience feedback i tweaked some of things on my original design to what they would of preferred to see.
With my Music Magazine Advert, i did the same concept, i drew up 3 sketches, then asked my target audience.
This is my finished Music Magazine Advert. It still remains rather unchanged to one of my original sketches. but i still incorporated some of my audience feedback into it.
Construction: editing
As the same as last year i wanted to use premiere pro as my editing tool for my music video.
I started by importing all of my raw footage into premiere pro and the song itself which i downloaded from youtube. The screenshot shows all of the footage i imported into premiere pro.

The first thing i did with all of my footage and sound was put the song in first, so i could gauge how long i would need to put the footage in for and how long it would need to be. Additionally, i had editing the song itself in adobe audition to make some changes to the into of the song, so it comes in gradually and not straight away.
My next step was to put all of my lip syncing scenes in and sync them up with the audio itself. This allowed me to make sure i had enough time for the other scenes within the music video.

After sorting out the lip syncing with the audio. I started putting in the raw footage, cutting it down to the correct size and putting it in a way that it tells a story to the audience of my music video.
I continued with making the story within the video, cutting it down to fit the size between the clips of Sam lip syncing

At this point i wanted to put my artists name and album title into the music video.
These pictures show me chasing a font and placing the text in the music video. To make my final choice on the font of the text, i asked my target demographic and made a tally of there responses. This is the font that was voted for the most, Called Baskerville.

After sorting out of the text at the start of the video i finished of with the rest of music video by putting in the rest of my raw footage. However i did notice that in a few of the lip syncing scenes that there was an orange hood in the side of the scene. This didn't seem very natural in the rest of the music video due to the tone of it, The bright colour makes the scene seem like a happy one, when in reality it should a more serious tone. So to fix this, i had to stretch out all of the scenes where this appears so that it was no longer in the scene

Construction: filming
The first time i filmed, i got all of the footage i needed for the music video. We first filmed all of the parts where there was lip syncing. We did this by getting the a lyric video for the chosen song and played it on the tv behind the camera. We retook multiple shots to be sure there were no items within the video such as shadows, camera bags or pieces of the bipod. In the end we needed to reshoot a couple of the shots which ended not being to the quality i wanted for the music video. In the shots that were taken outside, had the trouble of the shadows from the bipod in multiple shots. I fixed this by enlarging the shots in premiere pro.

Some of the other shots the i needed to take were more difficult to get. For example one shot was from the boot of a car which required me to get into it and shoot from it. A couple of these shots needed being quite dark due to the quick exposure of the light hitting lens which ended up making most of the scenes un-usable. Below is a video of when the light hit the lens and made the shot extremely bright then extremely dark not being able to see same face when he opens and closes the boot.
